While Friday's victory was certainly a team effort, someone pulling more than their own weight was underclassman Riley Piorkowski. Lucerne Valley had no answer to Piorkowski on Friday as she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Piorkowski's strong effort led Hesperia Christian over Lucerne Valley and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Hesperia Christian is 9-0 against Lucerne Valley going back to May of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
