Football Game Preview: Wilson Prep Tigers vs. Washington County Panthers

Wilson Prep is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Friday. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Washington County Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wilson Prep not only won last Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 29, 2024 (when they won 56-22). Everything went their way against Mount Zion Christian Academy as they made off with a 36-16 victory.

Travon Usher continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 194 yards on only 14 carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wilson Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 395 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Wilson Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Isreal Taylor.

Meanwhile, Washington County waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 26-21 W against the Eagles.

Wilson Prep picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Washington County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
