Baseball Recap: Northview Comes Up Short

If Northview was riding high fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Linton-Stockton on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Owen Valley Patriots on Tuesday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Quinn Lewis was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Zac Buell, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Northview has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Owen Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Coming up, Northview will take on Cloverdale at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights are facing the Clovers at the right time seeing as the Clovers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Owen Valley, they will be playing at home against West Vigo at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
