Football Game Preview: Pace Patriots vs. Gulf Breeze Dolphins

Pace has gone a perfect 7-0 against Gulf Breeze recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Pace Patriots will look to defend their home field against the Gulf Breeze Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. Pace is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 32.1 points per game this season.

Pace is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: Choctawhatchee, who was ranked fifth at the time (Pace was ranked 12th). Pace fell 21-14 to Choctawhatchee on Wednesday. The Patriots' defeat signaled the end of their undefeated season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Amaya Pablo, who rushed for 67 yards on only nine carries, and also threw for 135 yards on 20 of 35 attempts. That's the most rushing yards she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Pace didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Berkley Lutz and Pablo.

Meanwhile, Gulf Breeze was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 46-7 defeat at the hands of Navarre. One positive for the Dolphins, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pace fell to 6-1. As for Gulf Breeze, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Pace against Gulf Breeze in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, as the squad secured a 48-6 win. In that matchup, Pace amassed a halftime lead of 27-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
