Football Recap: Leuzinger Olympians vs. Paraclete Spirits
On Friday, the Leuzinger Olympians blew past the Paraclete Spirits, posting a 58-13 win on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Olympians.
Journee Tonga had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 350 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 16.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 42 receiving yards. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. Henry Doherty did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 107 receiving yards.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Leuzinger was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 597 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paraclete only gained 285.
Paraclete's loss came despite strong showings from Adrian Jones and Savaughn Gentle. Jones picked up 110 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Gentle picked up 61 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Leuzinger's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Paraclete, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Leuzinger will have plenty of time to enjoy the win as they don't play again for a while. They'll take on Loyola at 7:00 p.m. on September 13th. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran up and down the field in their prior games. As for Paraclete, they will head out on the road to take on Hart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
