Holmdel's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Christian Brothers Academy Colts. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hornets as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Holmdel who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 17-25, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Christian Brothers Academy still got an impressive performance from Will Kilkeary, who had 16 assists and six digs.

Holmdel's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Christian Brothers Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.

Holmdel will welcome Manchester Township at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Christian Brothers Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
