Game recap: Radford's arms and legs help Charlotte Country Day past Davidson Day

Charlotte Country Day (Charlotte, N.C.) beat Davidson Day (Davidson, N.C.) 56-15 on the strength of a superb game by dual threat quarterback Michael Radford, who threw three touchdown passes while running for two more.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Radford to Thomas Jackson in the first quarter, the Buccaneers led 42-8 at the half.

Charlotte Country Day expanded its lead to 41 points entering the fourth quarter. CCD scored once in the quarter on a Jimmy Kleitches touchdown run.

Radford and Kleitches ran for a bunch of touchdowns for Davidson Day.

Will Grier played well for DD. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns. A member of the Class of 2014 Top 100 Watch List, Grier has now scored five touchdowns on the season.

The Charlotte school went into the matchup giving up only 12.2 points per game. The Davidson school's 15 points were well below its season average of 45.3 per game.



The loss comes after Davidson Day defeated Asheville School 54-7 last week. The loss snapped Davidson Day's 3-game winning streak.

Charlotte Country Day (7-0) goes up against Charlotte Christian in a NCISAA Charlotte Independent Schools game matchup next week, while Davidson Day (5-2) locks horns with Metrolina Christian Academy in a non-conference game.
