Volleyball Recap: St. Albans Comes Up Short

St. Albans and Winfield squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but St. Albans had to settle for second. They came up short against the Generals, falling 3-0. The Red Dragons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Generals earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

St. Albans was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-5.

St. Albans' loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 25-18-1. As for Winfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-12-2 record this season.

St. Albans wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Chapmanville Regional on the 3rd. Hopefully Winfield paid attention to the Red Dragons' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Red Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
