Baseball Recap: Lexington Catholic Takes a Loss

After flying high against Tates Creek on Tuesday, Lexington Catholic came back down to earth. The Knights fell just short of the Commodores by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Commodores earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

Jack White was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Bennie Lawrence, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Lexington Catholic's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-6-1. As for Tates Creek, they pushed their record up to 8-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coincidentally, Lexington Catholic and Tates Creek will both be playing Henry Clay the next time they take the field. The Commodores will head out to face the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Knights will head out to face them on Saturday.
