Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Eaton

Eaton waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Brookville Blue Devils by a score of 7-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 last Wednesday.

Meredith Pieratt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ella Statzer, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydence Cook, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Eaton's record is now 10-5. As for Brookville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Eaton has already played their next contest, an 8-2 win against Oakwood on the 8th. As for Brookville, they will square off against Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
