After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Timberland, Fort Zumwalt South was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Fort Zumwalt East Lions. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

Fort Zumwalt South was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 21-25, 25-8.

Sydney Fenton paced Fort Zumwalt South's offense, picking up 19 kills. Fenton got some help from Gabbie Anderson and her 40 assists. Fenton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Fort Zumwalt South's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 4-18-4. As for Fort Zumwalt East, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

As of now, neither Fort Zumwalt South nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
