Basketball Game Preview: Cheraw Wolverines vs. McClave Cardinals

The Cheraw Wolverines will square off against the McClave Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Cheraw came up short against Las Animas and fell 57-45.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when McClave challenged Holly on Saturday. McClave took down Holly 63-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

McClave found their leader in sophomore Tuff Kelley, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kelley has scored all season. Mason Barr was another key player, putting up 11 points along with eight assists and five boards.

McClave smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive games.

McClave's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.6 points. As for Cheraw, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
