Volleyball Recap: Ventura Has No Trouble Against Buena

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Santa Barbara, Ventura was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Buena Bulldogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Ventura not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Buena between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20, 25-18.

Fletcher Duffey paced Ventura's offense, picking up 11 kills. Duffey got some help from Louie Nacu and his 32 assists.

Ventura has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Buena dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Ventura will venture away from home to take on Dos Pueblos at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dos Pueblos will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Ventura surely won't give up without a fight. As for Buena, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Thousand Oaks on the 12th.
