Basketball Game Preview: Sammamish RedHawks vs. Inglemoor Vikings

The Sammamish RedHawks will challenge the Inglemoor Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Tuesday, Sammamish took a blow against Lake Washington, falling 76-48. While losing is never fun, the RedHawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Kangaroos are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Inglemoor waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 75-65 win over the Pirates.

Inglemoor had a senior duo take command as Reuhen Bhalod dropped a double-double on 24 points and 18 boards and Aman Sterling went 10 for 18 on his way to 26 points and five assists. Bhalod is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 39 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Grothkopp, who posted six points.

Inglemoor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Inglemoor pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.4 points over those games. As for Sammamish, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
