Football Recap: Asotin Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Asotin extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They lost 51-28 to the Newport Grizzlies. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Asotin lost, don't look at Cody Ells. Despite the final result, he rushed for 308 yards and four scores while picking up 14.0 yards per carry.

As for Newport, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.0 points on average this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Kutter Driver and Jacob Reimers. Driver rushed for 197 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.4 yards per carry while Reimers rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry.

Asotin has already played their next contest, a 33-0 win against Reardan on the 10th. As for Newport, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-40 victory against Freeman on the 10th.
