The Canton Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Granby Memorial Bears at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Canton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over East Windsor on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Warriors with their most commanding win of the season.

Oden Berg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Canny, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Canton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Noah Asmar, who earned two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Canton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Windsor only posted an OBP of .261.
Meanwhile, Granby Memorial waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 8-4.
The victory made it two in a row for Canton and bumps their season record up to 9-11. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Granby Memorial, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Canton was able to grind out a solid victory over Granby Memorial in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 7-2. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
