Oregon hadn't done well against Monona Grove recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Silver Eagles. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 5-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Peyton Soule was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Oregon now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Monona Grove, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Oregon will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Silver Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
