Basketball Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Warwick Wildcats 55-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Wildcats since December 2, 2016.

Brendon Benbow was Monticello's leading scorer, having posted six points. Andr? Hill held things down on the boards with nine rebounds. Daniel Weyer took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Warwick, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-7.

Monticello wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 76-40 loss against Washingtonville on the 18th. As for Warwick, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-43 win against Valley Central on the 18th.
