Recap: Chandler Park Academy Eagles vs. Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers
The Chandler Park Academy Eagles were the 37-32 winner over the Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Chandler Park Academy took a 34-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Clemens on Friday. Chandler Park Academy's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Mt. Clemens was led to victory by Le'ila Sears and Leah Williams. Sears dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds, while Williams dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Mozarria Cunigan was another key contributor, scoring two points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Chandler Park Academy dropped their record down to 7-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mt. Clemens, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chandler Park Academy will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against River Rouge at 5:00 p.m. on January 29th. River Rouge is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Mt. Clemens, they will head out on the road to challenge Michigan Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
