Baseball Recap: Pike Central Comes Up Short

Pike Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southridge Raiders. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing 14-1 to the Raiders when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pike Central saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jiles Mason, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Pike Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Southridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pike Central will host Gibson Southern at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southridge, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Northview at 10:30 a.m.
