Preview: Streator Bulldogs vs. Ottawa Pirates
Streator is 1-7 against Ottawa since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Streator Bulldogs will be staying on the road to face off against the Ottawa Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on December 20th. Streator will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 681st, while Ottawa is ranked 272nd).
Last Saturday, Streator was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 30-26 to Illinois Valley Central. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Streator in their matchups with Illinois Valley Central: they've now lost three in a row.
Streator's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mina James, who scored four points, and Leah Krohe who scored six points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Krohe has scored all season.
Ottawa can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They blew past Rochelle, posting a 69-42 victory at home. Ottawa's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Streator's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Ottawa, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Streator was taken down by Ottawa 56-15 in their previous meeting back in February. Can Streator avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
