Baseball Recap: Larkin Comes Up Short

Larkin had lost 12 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-17 to make it 13. They lost 11-1 to the Bartlett Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Royals of the 8-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Bartlett, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13-1. Surprisingly, this marked their eighth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

For Bartlett's part, Josh Colaizzi was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Colaizzi has posted since back in March. Dillon Frost was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

While Larkin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
