Soccer Game Preview: Walnut vs. Bonita

The Walnut Mustangs will face off against the Bonita Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Walnut's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Walnut is coming into the contest fresh off a high-scoring shootout with Ayala that saw the pair combine for 14 shots on goal. Walnut lost 5-1 to Ayala on Tuesday. The matchup was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for the Mustangs it sure didn't stay that way.

Their goal came courtesy of Oscar Feria, who's now up to eight this season.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Bonita was not quite Claremont's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wolfpack by a score of 1-0.

Bonita's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2. As for Walnut, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-2.
