Soccer Game Preview: Downtown Doral vs. Florida Christian

The Downtown Doral Dolphins will venture away from home to square off against the Florida Christian Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Downtown Doral is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Everything went their way against Monsignor Pace on Thursday as Downtown Doral made off with a 9-1 win. Considering the Dolphins have won six matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Monsignor Pace from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Carolina Gonzalez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Florida Christian's and Westwood Christian's contest on Friday was close at halftime, but Florida Christian turned on the heat in the second half with three goals. Florida Christian's defense stepped up to hand Westwood Christian a 4-0 shutout. That four goal margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

The victory (which was Downtown Doral's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-6-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Florida Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-7-1.

Downtown Doral took their victory against Florida Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Downtown Doral since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
