Recap: St. Francis Flyers vs. Axtell Wildcats
With a playoff game on the line, the St. Francis Flyers rose to the challenge on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 42-8 victory over Axtell. Winning may never get old, but St. Francis sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Leading St. Francis to victory were Ethan Wieseler and Carson Wessel. Wieseler rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, while Wessel rushed for 88 yards and three touchdowns. Wessel has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
St. Francis has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.3 points per game. As for Axtell, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
St. Francis will head out on the road to face off against Wynot at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Wynot is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Axtell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
