Recap: Columbus Cardinals vs. Industrial Cobras
The Columbus Cardinals posted their closest win since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They came out on top against Industrial by a score of 43-40 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). Given Columbus' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Industrial is ranked 1008th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Columbus was led to victory by Karlee Mathis and Anaya Gardner. Mathis scored 12 points, while Gardner scored 14 points.
Columbus is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. As for Industrial, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-18.
Columbus will be playing at home against Hallettsville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hallettsville is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. As for Industrial, they will challenge Edna at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
