Baseball Recap: Mammoth Drops Highest Score of Season Against Immanuel Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mammoth). They put the hurt on the Immanuel Christian Crusaders with a sharp 26-3 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won four in a row.

Santiago Osnaya and Brennan Deaver made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Osnaya pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Meanwhile, Deaver tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Mammoth is 2-1 when Osnaya allows three or fewer earned runs, but 1-7 otherwise. At bat, Osnaya went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Deaver went 1-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Those two runs gave Deaver a new career-high.

In other batting news, Tanner Knott was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elias Ericson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-8. As for Immanuel Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mammoth will host Kern Valley at 3:15 p.m. on the 25th. As for Immanuel Christian, they will be playing at home against Trona at 3:15 p.m. on the 25th.
