Softball Recap: Loogootee Takes a Loss

Loogootee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Shakamak Lakers, falling 9-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 12-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Jocelynn Sims was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Loogootee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Shakamak, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Loogootee will host Orleans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Shakamak, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bloomington South at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
