Basketball Game Preview: Ridgedale Rockets vs. Upper Scioto Valley Rams

The Ridgedale Rockets will head out on the road to square off against the Upper Scioto Valley Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Upper Scioto Valley took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Ridgedale, who comes in off a win.

Ridgedale is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Calvary Christian to the tune of 56-21 on Saturday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Rockets considering their 23-point performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Upper Scioto Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 62-31 loss at the hands of McComb. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 686th, while the Panthers are ranked 146th).

Ridgedale will have to keep a close watch on Ruby Risner and Kamyn Titus, a pair of players who had a big impact on Upper Scioto Valley's prior game. Risner posted eight points, while Titus put up nine points.

Ridgedale's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Upper Scioto Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Ridgedale skirted past Upper Scioto Valley 43-40 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ridgedale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
