Basketball Game Preview: Newark Yellowjackets vs. Mount Pleasant Green Knights

The Newark Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to take on the Mount Pleasant Green Knights at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Newark came up short against Appoquinimink and fell 54-41. The defeat continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Mount Pleasant came up short against Odessa on Thursday, falling 73-48.

Mount Pleasant now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Newark, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Newark strolled past Mount Pleasant in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 61-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Newark since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
