Basketball Recap: Lubbock Comes Up Short

Lubbock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the White Longhorns and fell 59-30. While losing is never fun, the Westerners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 708th, while the Longhorns are ranked 160th).

Lubbock's record now sits at 8-11. As for White, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lubbock will square off against Coronado at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for White, they will venture away from home to take on Molina at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Molina has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-3 during that stretch of close contests.
