Basketball Recap: Crawford County Falls Despite Big Games from Blake Seibert and Braxton Bowman

Crawford County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 32-28 heartbreaker at the hands of the Shoals Jug Rox. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolfpack of the 55-45 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Crawford County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Braxton Bowman, who posted 15 points, and Blake Seibert, who had nine points and five rebounds. What's more, Seibert also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Landon Sines also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebound of the season.

Crawford County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Shoals, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.

Crawford County will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Orleans at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Orleans is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season. Shoals has already played their next match, a 60-46 win against Lighthouse Christian Academy on the 4th.
