Harvard proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Marengo Indians, sneaking past 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Harvard is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Marengo, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7.

Harvard and Marengo should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Hornets (ranked 226th) will meet Round Lake (ranked 472nd) at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Marengo will challenge Woodstock North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (32 vs. 161).
