Baseball Recap: Tulare Union Triumphs

Tulare Union got themselves on the board against Porterville on Monday, but Porterville never followed suit. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 4-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tribe also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

The result came thanks to Roman Leal's shutout, as he gave up just five hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Tulare Union is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Tulare Union saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayven Negrete, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Ryan Matthews was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Tulare Union's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Porterville, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tulare Union will face off against Hanford at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Porterville, they will take on Golden West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
