Basketball Recap: Atchison Comes Up Short

Atchison lost against Highland Park back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Atchison Phoenix took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highland Park Scots. The Phoenix have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Highland Park found their leader in sophomore Pearmella Carter, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 17 boards. Carter also set a new season-high mark in steals with six. Zayah Kincade was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Atchison's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Highland Park, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Atchison has already played their next game (against Washington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Highland Park, they will challenge Harmon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland Park is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.
