Softball Recap: Gateway Takes a Loss

If Gateway was feeling good fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Penn Hills last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gators lost 14-4 to the Franklin Regional Panthers on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Gators in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Gianna D'Agostino made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-3. Rylee Beavin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Gateway's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Franklin Regional, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Gateway is set to face off against their familiar foe Armstrong at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Franklin Regional will take on rival Penn-Trafford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
