Baseball Recap: Lane Tech's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lane Tech had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the York Dukes by a score of 10-5. This was payback for the Champions, who suffered a 10-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Tyler Trapp, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Alex Ziegler was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lane Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lane Tech's record now sits at 16-9. As for York, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-4.

Lane Tech and York should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Champions will square off against Ogden International at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (130 vs. 376). Meanwhile, York (ranked 31st) will meet Glenbard West (ranked 189th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
