Basketball Preview: Ledyard Colonels vs. Windham Whippets
Ledyard and Windham are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Ledyard Colonels will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Windham Whippets at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Windham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 72-64 to Windham RVT. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (58), the Whippets still had to take the loss.
Ledyard will have to contain Malcolm Hunter as he made an impact in Windham's last game. He went 8 for 19 on his way to 30 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anden Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.
Even though they lost, Windham was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Windham RVT only racked up ten assists.
