Orem extends road winning streak to six

The Orem Tigers came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Maple Mountain 68-54. That's two games straight that Orem has won by exactly 14 points.

Orem got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chance Dastrup out in front who scored ten points along with nine assists and two steals. Dastrup is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now racked up eight or more in the last three games he's played. Kai Wesley was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Orem pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Maple Mountain, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Orem on the road again on Tuesday and play against Timpview at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. One thing working in Timpview's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matches. As for Maple Mountain, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Springville at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Springville is ranked 37th, while Maple Mountain is ranked 45th).
