Softball Recap: Green Bay Southwest Takes a Loss

Green Bay Southwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran Blazers.

Audrey Nelson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Taya Longlais, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Green Bay Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Coming up, Green Bay Southwest will be playing at home against Manitowoc Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ships have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran, they will face off against Oconto at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
