Northwestern had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Rossville Hornets 61-58. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 57-55 victory the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2025.

Colin Cook continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 72% from the field to rack up 31 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bradyn Wilson, who went 6-for-10 en route to 15 points and five boards.

Rossville's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Thiele-Hahn, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. The game was Thiele-Hahn's seventh in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Schaumburg, who went 8-for-15 to rack up 22 points.

Northwestern's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Rossville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4.

Looking ahead, Northwestern will take on Blackford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rossville, they will face off against Western Boone at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
