Soccer Game Preview: Stevens vs. Belmont

The Stevens Cardinals will head out on the road to square off against the Belmont Red Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stevens' defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so Belmont's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Stevens' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Monadnock. Stevens might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Belmont). They came out on top against Hillsboro-Deering by a score of 6-4 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for Belmont as it spelled an end to their 12-match losing streak.

Belmont picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-13. As for Stevens, their win bumped their record up to 15-0.

Everything went Stevens' way against Belmont when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Stevens made off with a 7-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
