Monroe had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Stanwood Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 two weeks ago.

Monroe's win bumped their record up to 6-4-1. As for Stanwood, their loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Monroe will challenge Marysville Getchell at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stanwood, they will face off against Lake Stevens at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Stevens' defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so Stanwood's offense will have their work cut out for them.
