Football Game Preview: Karns Beavers vs. West Rebels

Karns is 0-4 against West since September of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Beavers will face off against the Rebels. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Karns put up the most points they have all season last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Morristown-Hamblen East 51-12. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Beavers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Karns to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Slover, who threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns. Those four passing touchdowns gave Slover a new career-high. Cameron George helped Slover out on the ground, rushing for 149 yards and one TD.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Karns' defense and their three sacks. In that department, Weston Ritter was the leader with two. Jamayne Rutherford got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, West blew past William Blount, posting a 59-14 win. Considering the Rebels have won three games by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Karns' record now sits at 3-5. As for West, their record is now 3-4.

Karns was dealt a bruising 44-0 defeat at the hands of West when the teams last played back in September of 2020. Can the Beavers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
