Softball Recap: Economedes Comes Up Short

Economedes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 13-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Economedes saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natasha Gonzalez, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Economedes' defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Economedes Jaguars face off against Edinburg Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Edinburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, they will head out on the road to square off against Weslaco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Pharr-San Juan-Alamo's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last eight contests.
