Basketball Recap: Mckenna Tassie Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hatch Valley + How To Watch

Animas won the last time they faced Hatch Valley and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers strolled past the Bears with points to spare, taking the game 34-20.

Animas' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mckenna Tassie led the charge by dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. Those 16 points gave Tassie a new career-high. Ayslee Davenport was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madison Batrez, who posted eight points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Sophia Holguin, who scored six points and 11 boards.

Animas' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Hatch Valley, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Animas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-22 loss against Sandia Prep on the 6th. As for Hatch Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-17 defeat against Lordsburg on the 6th.
