Football Recap: La Quinta Victorious

La Quinta put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 22-21 W against the Hesperia Scorpions.

Roman Ansley was the offensive standout of the matchup as he threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in August of 2024.

Despite the loss, Hesperia still got an impressive performance from Zamar Malveaux, who rushed for 169 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Malveaux is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 124 every time he's taken the field this season. Da'Lon Williams was another key player, rushing for 114 yards on only 14 carries.

La Quinta's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Hesperia, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Quinta will face off against Lynwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hesperia, they will take on Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
