Softball Recap: Stow-Munroe Falls Gets the Win

The Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs beat the Roosevelt Rough Riders 8-5 on Monday. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly three runs.

Olivia Patterson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on 12 hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lexi Watson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Stow-Munroe Falls and bumps their season record up to 6-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Roosevelt, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stow-Munroe Falls will host Crestwood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.36 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Roosevelt, they will face off against Kenston at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
