Basketball Recap: Neoga Comes Up Short

Neoga lost against Newton back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Neoga Indians took a blow against the Newton Eagles, falling 79-47. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 414th, while the Eagles are ranked 76th).

Neoga's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Newton, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Neoga is taking a road trip to take on Altamont at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Newton has already played their next contest (against Pana), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
