Basketball Recap: Richland County Comes Up Short

Richland County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost to the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes on the road by a 57-42 margin. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th in Illinois, while the Wooden Shoes are ranked 110th in Illinois).

Despite the loss, Richland County still got an impressive performance from Arjay Keller, who went 10-for-15 to rack up 27 points. The contest was Keller's third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reid Brown, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Richland County's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Teutopolis, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-10.

Richland County has already played their next game, a 61-36 loss against Marion on the 26th. As for Teutopolis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 56-33 victory against Flora on the 26th.
